In what's become a running theme this season, the American History Bald Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Newark Vocational at home to the tune of 56-21. Winning may never get old, but American History sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
American History found their leader in underclassman Ashiyah Holliman, who scored 25 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Holliman scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Erica Lawson, who scored ten points along with three steals.
American History has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Newark Vocational, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American History will stay at home for another game and welcome Weequahic at 4:00 p.m. on February 9th. Newark Vocational will take on Academy Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Newark Vocational comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
