The Westview Wolverines will head out to face off against the Mount Michael Benedictine Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Westview earned a 9-4 win over Omaha Central. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.
Mitchell Piatt made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple.

In other batting news, Kevin Rempe and Scott Miner II did most of the damage at the plate: Rempe scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Miner II went 1-for-4 with five RBI and one triple. Rempe has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Markell Newton, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Westview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted in their last seven contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 22 runs the game before, Mount Michael Benedictine was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost 12-1 to Omaha South.
Mount Michael Benedictine saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Bluvas, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Mount Michael Benedictine's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Westview, their record now sits at 10-6.
Mount Michael Benedictine's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. It's a different story for Mount Michael Benedictine, though, as they've only averaged .217. Will they be able to contain Westview's hitters?
Westview beat Mount Michael Benedictine 5-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
