Baseball Recap: Rochester Wins Going Away Against Tippecanoe Valley

Rochester won the last time they faced Tippecanoe Valley and things went their way on Saturday too. The Zebras put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 10-1 win. Considering the Zebras have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Conner Dunfee made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Drew Bowers was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Tanner Reinartz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Rochester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tippecanoe Valley only posted a batting average of .167.

The victory made it two in a row for Rochester and bumps their season record up to 15-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Rochester will square off against Peru at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will be playing at home against Central Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
