The New Richmond Lions will head out on the road to take on the Mariemont Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Richmond is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Last Friday, New Richmond came up short against the Falcons and fell 65-54.
Despite the defeat, New Richmond got a solid performance out of Rylan Utter, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ryan Keith was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Mariemont didn't have too much trouble with the Wildcats on the road on Friday as they won 63-47. Given Mariemont's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 642nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
New Richmond dropped their record down to 5-12 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mariemont, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
New Richmond was able to grind out a solid victory over the Warriors when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 69-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Richmond since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
