Basketball Recap: Cambridge Falls Despite Big Games from Hodge Raburn and Krayton Ruggles

After flying high against Southern Valley last Tuesday, Cambridge came back down to earth. The Cambridge Trojans received a blow on Friday as they fell 62-48 to South Loup. The Trojans have struggled against South Loup recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Cambridge's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Krayton Ruggles, who posted 19 points and five steals, and Hodge Raburn, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Those 19 points gave Ruggles a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Ahlemeyer, who earned four points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Cambridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for South Loup, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Cambridge will take on Loomis in a holiday battle at at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Cambridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season. As for South Loup, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-50 victory against Pleasanton on the 14th.
