The Marist RedHawks had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 70-54 win over Saint Viator on Saturday. The win was just what Marist needed coming off of a 62-25 defeat in their prior game.
Saint Viator's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia Bergstrom, who scored 18 points. Bergstrom is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kalin McCrea, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Marist's win bumped their record up to 10-20. As for Saint Viator, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 17 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-23 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marist will take on the Roadrunners at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Saint Viator, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Caxys at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake Forest Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
