Softball Recap: Clinton Has No Trouble Against Blissfield

Clinton won the last time they faced Blissfield and things went their way on Friday too. The Redwolves were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Royals.

Taryn Hernandez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Hernandez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kylinn Long was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Calli Kruger, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI.

Clinton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blissfield only posted an OBP of .429.

The victory got Clinton back to even at 1-1. As for Blissfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will head out to take on Dundee at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blissfield, they will venture away from home to challenge Ida at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
