Even though The Great Mills Hornets have not done well against the Chopticon Braves recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Great Mills claimed a resounding 30-0 win over Chopticon at home. Great Mills pushed the score to 23-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Chopticon had little chance of recovering from.
Great Mills was led to victory by Donovan Bryan and Jameson Dyson. Bryan rushed for 148 yards, while Dyson threw for 93 yards and two touchdowns. Javon Barnes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Great Mills' win bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Chopticon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
Great Mills will head out on the road to face off against Lackey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Lackey is ranked 80th, while Great Mills is ranked 61st). As for Chopticon, they will be playing at home against Leonardtown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
