The Rosary Academy Royals will square off against the Irvine Vaqueros at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Rosary Academy will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Rosary Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Woodbridge by a score of 3-0.
The result came thanks to Ava Phillips's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jenna Caldera was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Domonique McCoy was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Rosary Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodbridge struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Irvine, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against University on Monday as they made off with a 13-2 victory. That looming 13-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vaqueros yet this season.
Midori De Los Santos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. De Los Santos was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Irvine let Abby Sasaki and Katie Liu run wild. Sasaki scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Liu scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Vandermolen, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Rosary Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Irvine, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-12.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rosary Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. However, it's not like Irvine struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
