White County hasn't had much luck against DeKalb County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors will head out to face off against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
White County not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Cumberland County a 16-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Mabry Taylor tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
At the plate, Anna McCulley was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Schalk, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
White County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .656. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, DeKalb County was not the first on the board last Tuesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Livingston Academy by a score of 6-2.
Kora Kilgore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zayleigh Bain, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Bryna Pelham was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
DeKalb County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for White County, their record is now 10-14.
White County suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to DeKalb County in their previous meeting on April 1st. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
