The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks will square off against the Cottondale Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Port St. Joe 3.6, Cottondale 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Port St. Joe's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Sneads 17-0. The Tiger Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
KK McNair made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. McNair was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Addy Silcox was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Elli Newman, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.
Port St. Joe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Cottondale had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Tigers.
Not much got past Annelise Skipper, who gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks to keep Blountstown off the board. Skipper has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Cottondale's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Marley Green, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Port St. Joe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Cottondale, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Port St. Joe has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cottondale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Port St. Joe's way against Cottondale when the teams last played back in March, as Port St. Joe made off with a 7-0 win. Do the Tiger Sharks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
