Patrick Lovato posted a new career-high in runs on Tuesday. He scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has become a key player for McCurdy: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-10-1 otherwise.

Even though Lovato couldn't lead McCurdy over Mesa Vista, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats are 8-1 against the Trojans going back to April of 2016, a lead they'll look to extend.
