Last Friday, KIPP P was the victim of a tough 60-34 loss at the hands of Southeast Halifax. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for KIPP P in their matchups with Southeast Halifax: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Northampton County's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 51-39 to Northwest Halifax. While losing is never fun, Northampton County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while Northwest Halifax is ranked 101st).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kashanti Parker, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. The match was Parker's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Michaela Hodge, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
KIPP P's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Northampton County, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2.
