The Ludlow Panthers will head out to square off against the Pendleton County Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Ludlow took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Dayton 17-1. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Parker Trenkamp made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Ludlow is 4-2 when he allows at most one hit, but 3-6 otherwise. Trenkamp was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Like Ludlow, Pendleton County also got a great game from a two-way player: Kevin Miles. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Miles was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Carter Glahn was a standout: he got on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Biddle, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ludlow's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8. As for Pendleton County, their record now sits at 7-8-1.
Ludlow beat Pendleton County 7-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
