Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Corpus Christi Moody

Corpus Christi Moody had won five straight games and Shantaye Hazel did her part to make it six on Tuesday. The Corpus Christi Moody Trojans took their contest with ease, bagging a 54-11 win over the Ray Texans thanks in part to Hazel, who went 14 of 18 on her way to 31 points along with six boards and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 20 games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylynn Silva, who posted four points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in boards (three).

Corpus Christi Moody has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Ray, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Corpus Christi Moody didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-61 victory against Alice on the 3rd. As for Ray, they will head out to take on Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial at 6:15 p.m. on January 7th.
