The Silverdale Academy Seahawks put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 58-25 win over East Hamilton at home. The result was nothing new for Silverdale Academy, who have now won five games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Leading Silverdale Academy to victory were Kennedy Okpara and Brett Wright. Okpara dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Wright scored 13 points. The game was Wright's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Houston Holland was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Silverdale Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for East Hamilton, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-9 record last season and are now at 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silverdale Academy will square off against Heritage at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Heritage will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 173rd in Georgia, while Silverdale Academy is ranked 25th in Tennessee). As for East Hamilton, they will head out on the road to face off against Chattanooga Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chattanooga Central and East Hamilton are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
