Livingston hasn't had much luck against Ceres recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Livingston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
Livingston's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Pacheco. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.
Mariah Blaine made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Annalee Aguilar, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 12 contests. Another player making a difference was Frankie Solis, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Livingston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Ceres was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of Beyer by a score of 2-1. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Ceres saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Montesdeoca, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Livingston pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Ceres, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Livingston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Ceres struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Livingston was able to grind out a solid victory over Ceres in their previous matchup back in March, winning 14-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
