Anahuac proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 17) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the East Chambers Buccaneers, sneaking past 5-3. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Brecken Wilpitz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Anahuac got a big performance out of Jayda Granger, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Granger has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Keeley Butler was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Anahuac's record is now 11-2-2. As for East Chambers, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7-1.
