The Serrano Diamondbacks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 70-50 loss at the hands of Palm Desert. While losing is never fun, Serrano can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 924th, while Palm Desert is ranked 250th).
Palm Desert was led to victory by Wil Wilson and Coby Christensen . Wilson scored 25 points, while Christensen dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Christensen has scored at least 25% of Palm Desert's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Samson , who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Serrano has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Palm Desert, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Serrano is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Arroyo Valley at 12:30 p.m. on December 27th. Arroyo Valley is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. Palm Desert won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Carter at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th.
