The Solebury Spartans will face off against Tournament Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Solebury knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 games -- so hopefully Tournament Opponent likes a good challenge.
Solebury can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They put the hurt on Varsity Opponent with a sharp 70-48 win. Solebury pushed the score to 65-32 by the end of the third, a deficit Varsity Opponent cut but never quite recovered from.
Solebury's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joell Idrovo, who scored 19 points. Idrovo hasn't dropped below 19 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Makhai Anderson, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Tournament Opponent came up short against Berean Christian on Friday and fell 52-41.
Solebury's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Tournament Opponent, their loss dropped their record down to 77-275.
Solebury strolled past Tournament Opponent in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 64-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Solebury since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
