The Carver Challengers put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Air Force Academy 31-4 at home. Given Carver's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Air Force Academy is ranked 557th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Astarte Washington continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Carver's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Ontiveros, who scored 8 points.
Carver has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 4-0 record. Despite that those good results, the team's offense hasn't been rolling: across that stretch, they only averaged 21.3 points per game. As for Air Force Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Carver will head out on the road to face off against Little Village at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
