Newman and Brimmer & May are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. On Wednesday, Newman suffered a tough 60-35 loss at the hands of Marie Philip. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Newman in their matchups with Marie Philip: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, even though Cheshire Academy scored an imposing 62 points on Saturday, Brimmer & May still came out on top. Brimmer & May managed a 68-62 win over Cheshire Academy.
Newman has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Brimmer & May, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
Newman took a serious blow against Brimmer & May in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 63-33. Can Newman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
