Basketball Recap: Lincoln Snags 11th Victory in Last 14 Games

Lincoln won the last time they faced Leon, and Jamiya Brown did her part to make sure it happened again. The Lincoln Trojans claimed a resounding 61-16 win over the Leon Lions thanks in part to Brown, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards. Her evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Hayes, who posted four points. What's more, she also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.

Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Leon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will venture away from home to square off against Madison County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leon, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Leon Lions take on the Godby Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Godby is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.
