Maplewood hasn't had much luck against Pymatuning Valley recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rockets will look to defend their home field against the Lakers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Maplewood 2.4, Pymatuning Valley 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Maplewood's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Badger. The victory continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Addison Marker, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Badger off the board. Marker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Maplewood's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Raegan Krieg, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Claire Urchek was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Pymatuning Valley made easy work of Harding on Wednesday and carried off a 25-0 victory. The Lakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.
Mackenzie Kribbs made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Kribbs was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Pymatuning Valley got a massive performance out of McKenna Jordan, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Jordan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aislyn Fuller, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and three RBI.
Pymatuning Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harding only posted an OBP of .263.
Pymatuning Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Maplewood, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Maplewood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Pymatuning Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .462. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Maplewood might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Pymatuning Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024.
