Basketball Recap: Catholic Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Qwameik Smith and Sei'mir Roberson

Catholic Central lost against Troy back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Catholic Central Crusaders fell to the Troy Flying Horses 71-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Sunday (60), the Crusaders still had to take the loss.

Sei'Mir Roberson and Qwameik Smith certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Roberson went 8 of 15 en route to 22 points and three steals, while Smith went 8 of 19 on his way to 23 points and seven rebounds. Roberson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Mallory, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Catholic Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Catholic Central's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Troy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Catholic Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 99-64 victory against Ichabod Crane on the 20th. As for Troy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-69 win against Saratoga Springs on the 21st.
