Spencerville had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-8 to make it four. They fell just short of the Crestview Knights by a score of 9-7. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 17-2 to the Knights when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Alexis Post put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. Post was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Elise Litsey made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Haley Hittle was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs.
As for Crestview, their win bumped their record up to 4-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 11, 2025.
On Crestview's side, Violet Dirr was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Dakota Thornell, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Spencerville has already played their next game, a 10-7 defeat against Coldwater on the 17th. As for Crestview, they will square off against Columbus Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
