Florence suffered their closest loss since February 27th on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Deshler Tigers by a score of 6-4. The Falcons' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Eli Martin put in work no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

Martin wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Henry Thomas Blanke, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Coston Mahan also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Florence's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Deshler, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Florence will take on Faith Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Deshler, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Deshler Tigers take on Central Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
