The Flat Rock Rams will face off against the Richard Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Flat Rock is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 17 games.
On Thursday, Flat Rock got the win against Erie-Mason by a conclusive 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Flat Rock got a massive performance out of David Riddle, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Ty Bergeron was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Flat Rock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while Richard put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Taylor. The Pioneers skirted past the Griffins 2-0. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Griffins recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Richard's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Valatka, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Flat Rock's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Richard, their victory bumped their record up to 4-16-1.
Flat Rock came out on top in a nail-biter against Richard in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, sneaking past 9-8. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
