Sadly, the EPIC Academy The Legends are still looking for their first win of the season after 14 contests. They fell 65-53 to Excel Academy of South Shore on Wednesday. EPIC Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Excel Academy of South Shore apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.
Several The Legends players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antwan Donley, who scored 15 points. Donley is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of RayQuan Woods, who scored 15 points.
Kenard Mason was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 3 assists for Excel Academy of South Shore. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mason has scored all season. Keion Miller was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals and two blocks.
EPIC Academy's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Excel Academy of South Shore, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
EPIC Academy will head out on the road to take on South Shore International at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Excel Academy of South Shore will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Tilden at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Tilden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Friday.
