While Metrolina Christian Academy's win against Charlotte S wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Stampede 1-0 on Tuesday. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Warriors have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Case Gibbs tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.

Evan Hogg was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hogg was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. He has become a key player for SouthLake Christian Academy: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
Hogg wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sean Rodesiler, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Rodesiler is becoming a predictor of SouthLake Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Another was Isaac Shires, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Metrolina Christian Academy pushed their record up to 22-1 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for SouthLake Christian Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Metrolina Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479. However, it's not like SouthLake Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Metrolina Christian Academy took their victory against SouthLake Christian Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
