The Galileo Lions pushed their score all the way to 58 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 75-58 bruising from Washington. Galileo has not had much luck with Washington recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Washington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Korey Abantao, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Jaydon Chow was another key contributor, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 0 assists.
Galileo's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Washington, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galileo will take on Balboa at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Balboa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Wednesday. As for Washington, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome KIPP SF College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on February 15th. KIPP SF College Prep is coming into the matchup with three straight victories on the road, so Washington is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
