Straughn (Andalusia, Ala.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 42-0 win over Northside (Northport, Ala.).
The Tigers put up 13 points in the opening quarter. Straughn scored on a touchdown run by
Devin Scott and a passing touchdown.
After taking the lead on a Scott touchdown run in the first quarter, SHS led 21-0 at the half.
The Andalusia school expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. The Tigers scored three times in the third, including once on a Scott touchdown run.
Straughn went into the matchup giving up only 14.7 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Northside, who notched a 55-34 victory over Oak Grove in its previous outing.
