The Crete-Monee Warriors suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Simeon by a score of 55-53. Crete-Monee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Simeon apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Simeon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dijiona Berrien, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Berrien has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabryelle Howard, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Crete-Monee has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Simeon, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
Crete-Monee's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bloom at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Bloom will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Simeon will take on Morgan Park at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Morgan Park has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 13.
