Cedar Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Cooper led the charge by throwing for 301 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 32 yards. That's the most passing yards Cooper has posted since back in October of 2024. Another rusher making a difference was Lucas Viloria, who rushed for 142 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cedar Park was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 320 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Lake Belton never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Leander 45-0. The matchup marked the Broncos' most dominant win of the season.
Lake Belton found their leader in sophomore Zyien Dupree, who rushed for 180 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Dupree has become a key player for the Broncos: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Arrington Alexander was another key rusher, rushing for 102 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.
Lake Belton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Braxton Cope and Ji'Yson Sherman. Lake Belton got some further help from Gavin Owens: he picked up a sack and made ten total tackles.
Cedar Park now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Lake Belton, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Cedar Park has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 256.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lake Belton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 163.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Cedar Park couldn't quite get it done against Lake Belton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 28-21. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Broncos' Davion Peters, who picked up 182 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 54 yards and one TD on only seven carries.
