The Nathan Hale Rangers won the last time they faced the Webster Warriors, and things went their way on Friday too. Nathan Hale strolled past Webster with points to spare, taking the game 68-49. Given Nathan Hale's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Webster is ranked 378th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Webster's loss came despite strong showings from Amondre Davis and Hondo Avington. Davis scored 12 points along with eight assists and five rebounds, while Avington scored 14 points. It was the first time this season that Davis posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Terrance Franklin, who scored seven points.
The victory got Nathan Hale back to even at 7-7. As for Webster, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
Nathan Hale will be playing in front of their home fans against Glenpool at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Webster does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
