Bridgeport Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Wilton Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Thursday, Bridgeport Central took a serious blow against the Wreckers, falling 67-40. While losing is never fun, Bridgeport Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Wreckers are ranked 23rd).
Meanwhile, Wilton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 52-46 to the Tigers. Wilton has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Bridgeport Central dropped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Wilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Bridgeport Central didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Warriors when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 56-51 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bridgeport Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
