Maize has been on the road for eight straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Hutchinson Salthawks at TBD on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Maize beat Haysville Campus 62-56. The win was just what Maize needed coming off of a 49-27 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Hutchinson entered their tilt with Eisenhower with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Hutchinson took down Eisenhower 70-54 on Tuesday. Given Hutchinson's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Eisenhower is ranked 179th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Maize now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Hutchinson, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
Maize came out on top in a nail-biter against Hutchinson in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 47-44. Will Maize repeat their success, or does Hutchinson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
