The Brandeis Broncos will head out on the road to take on the Johnson Jaguars at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
A well-balanced attack led Brandeis over Madison in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Brandeis enjoyed a cozy 52-36 win over Madison. The win was familiar territory for Brandeis who now have three in a row.
Brandeis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Finley Montoya, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trevor Short, who scored 11 points.
Johnson posted their closest win yet this season on Wednesday. They skirted past SA Roosevelt 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
The victory got Brandeis back to even at 13-13. As for Johnson, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-17.
Brandeis didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Johnson when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brandeis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
