After flying high against Friendship Tech Prep Academy last Wednesday, King's Christian Academy came back down to earth. The King's Christian Academy Eagles fell 46-33 to the Chopticon Braves on Friday. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Braves from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.
Chopticon can attribute much of their success to Kirnique Swales, who posted 22 points. Swales continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Abrielle Cook was another key player, putting up 11 points.
King's Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Chopticon, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, King's Christian Academy and Southern Maryland Christian Academy will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Chopticon, they will venture away from home to square off against Bowie at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
