The Hooks Hornets had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Edgewood 92-57 on the road. The win was just business as usual for Hooks, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Leading Hooks to victory were Ripken Birdwell and Keyshawn Walls. Birdwell threw for 345 yards and five touchdowns on only 16 passes, while Walls rushed for 317 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. Birdwell has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jatavious Johnson, who picked up 166 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Hooks pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.67 points. As for Edgewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Hooks will look to defend their home field on Friday against Daingerfield at 7:00 p.m. Daingerfield is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Edgewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
