Northern Lakes recap Oct. 16, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Springfield, who took down 434th ranked Springfield, 42-20.
Napoleon extended the longest winning streak in Northern Lakes this week by beating Perrysburg, 35-34. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Wildcats.
Mark Delas was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 198 yards as the Yellowjackets bested the Yellowjackets. Steve Slocum also contributed to the rushing game with 109 yards on the ground.
Lauf was the best wideout in the league this week as Tory Strock's team topped Perrysburg. Lauf racked up five receptions for 112 yards. Charlie Harris helped Napoleon's passing attack out by catching three balls for 35 yards.
Steve Duby put up the best numbers through the air as Maumee beat Northview. He finished with a total of 10 completions for 196 yards and three touchdowns. Duby's favorite target this week was Dominique King, who caught five passes for 106 yards.
Maumee's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Duby has thrown for 1419 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while King has 22 catches for 522 yards. Andrew Schultz leads the league in rushing with 833 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Panthers take on Anthony Wayne. Maumee is currently in third, while the Generals are in fourth.
John Boles' team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. The Panthers defeated the Wildcats 28-0 earlier in the week.
