The Phoenix Christian Cougars will take on the Kingman Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Phoenix Christian barely beat Arizona Lutheran Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Phoenix Christian was the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Arizona Lutheran Academy on Thursday. The victory was just business as usual for the Cougars, who after six games remain undefeated this season.
Kohen Spannagel was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Spannagel was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Matthews, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zach Brigowatz, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Phoenix Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .391 or higher in three consecutive contests.
While Kingman didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Monument Valley 35-3 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.
Like Phoenix Christian, Kingman also got a great game from a two-way player: Cash Collins. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits Collins has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other pitching news, Taelon Thomason looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, Canton Collins was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Garrick Hallman was another key player, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
Phoenix Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Kingman, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Phoenix Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .408. However, it's not like Kingman struggles in that department as they've averaged .411. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
