Even though the Douglas Tigers have not done well against the Sutton Sammies recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Douglas enjoyed a cozy 52-33 victory over Sutton. The win was nothing new for Douglas as they're now sitting on three straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Douglas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adam Dunphy, who scored 14 points. Owen Gray was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Despite the loss, Sutton had strong showings from Charles Marchand, who scored 14 points, and Cam Benedict, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marchand has scored all season.
Douglas now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Sutton, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.
Douglas will head out on the road to square off against Blackstone-Millville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Blackstone-Millville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Douglas is ranked 88th). As for Sutton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hopedale at 6:30 p.m.
