Basketball Recap: Taylor Skates Past Warner Christian Academy with Ease

While Taylor didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 67-30 victory over the Warner Christian Academy Eagles. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 27 points or more this season.

James Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jackson Harcus was another key player, putting up nine points and eight rebounds.

Taylor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 34 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 13 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Taylor's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Warner Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

After both having extra time off, Taylor and Crooms Academy will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. One thing working in Taylor's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for Warner Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Halifax Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
