It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lake Charles College Prep Trailblazers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Pope John Paul II on the road to the tune of 34-7. The win was some much needed relief for Lake Charles College Prep as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Lake Charles College Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylen Rubin, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Elijah Garrick also helped out with an impressive 97 receiving yards.
Lake Charles College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Pope John Paul II, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.
Lake Charles College Prep is on the road again on Friday and play against Catholic - N.I. Catholic - N.I. is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Pope John Paul II does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
