The Lely Trojans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Aubrey Rogers, posting a 75-46 victory at home. The win was a breath of fresh air for Lely as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Lely's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lovence Valcin led the charge by scoring 14 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Valcin posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Richard Obas, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Lely's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for Aubrey Rogers, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lely's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Community School of Naples at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Aubrey Rogers will take on Barron Collier at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barron Collier knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Aubrey Rogers likes a good challenge.
