The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Chestertown Christian Academy came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Seaside Christian Academy is ranked 279th).
Meanwhile, Greenwood Mennonite put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 61-13 win over Fairwinds Christian. The victory was nothing new for Greenwood Mennonite as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Greenwood Mennonite had a senior duo take command as Laci Mast scored 26 points along with six steals and Faith Troyer dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Mast is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Nona Wright was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
Chestertown Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Greenwood Mennonite, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2.
Chestertown Christian Academy took a serious blow against Greenwood Mennonite in their previous matchup back in January, falling 59-12. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mast, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 steals.
