Basketball Recap: Escambia Falls Despite Big Games from Luterian Williams and Tivonchae Bryant

Escambia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 42-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pine Forest Eagles. The Gators were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Tivonchae Bryant and Luterian Williams certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Bryant posted eight points, while Williams put up seven points and six rebounds. What's more, Bryant also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023.

It was another big night for Marlin Williams, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 23 rebounds for Pine Forest. Williams has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kenton Wilkerson, who had seven points.

Escambia's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Pine Forest, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Escambia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-48 defeat against Booker T. Washington on the 9th. As for Pine Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 48-42 loss against West Florida on the 6th.
