Lebanon hasn't had much luck against Lampeter-Strasburg recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cedars will host the Pioneers at 4:15 p.m.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Lebanon and Solanco, and Solanco kept the tradition alive. The Cedars fell just short of the Golden Mules by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday.
Diego Serrano made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Cruz, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lampeter-Strasburg got themselves on the board against Elizabethtown on Wednesday, but Elizabethtown never followed suit. They blew past the Bears 10-0. Considering the Pioneers have won five matches by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Elizabethtown's batters probably weren't too happy with Devin Aponte, who pitched a no hitter and racked up six Ks (he gave up two walks). Aponte has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brady Scranton was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Gavin Tipping was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Lebanon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lebanon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lampeter-Strasburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lebanon couldn't quite get it done against Lampeter-Strasburg in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-3. Can the Cedars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
