The Highland Tech Rams's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down Shelby 48-33. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Highland Tech did.
It was another big night for Addie McCraw, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. McCraw is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Fangman, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Several Golden Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sydnie Enste, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Enste is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Spake, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Highland Tech's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Shelby, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-9.
Highland Tech will square off against Cherryville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherryville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while Highland Tech is ranked 265th). As for Shelby, they will be playing at home against East Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Gaston is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
